Jim Furyk played bogey-free on the back nine at East Lake and shot a tournament-best 65 on Friday for a share of the 36-hole lead with Luke Donald of England, who had another 66.

from ESPN.com:Like most golfers, Ernie Els always wonders if he could have achieved more in his career. He was reminded Wednesday he has done plenty with the announcement that he has been elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Els was the only player to receive enough votes from the PGA Tour, the first year his name was on the ballot. The most global player of his era, the Big Easy has won 62 times around the world, including two U.S. Opens and a British Open

Top 30 set for FedEx Final

The top 30 are set for THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, a tournament that also will decide the FedExCup.

Of the 30 players headed to East Lake in two weeks, only the top five in points are guaranteed the FedExCup should one of them win THE TOUR Championship. Dustin Johnson, the winner of Sunday's BMW Championship, moved into the top five, as did runner-up Paul Casey

Kuchar's 67 leads at PGA

Matt Kuchar, the former U.S. Amateur champ who has surged into the top 10 on the PGA Tour in recent months, has the lead through 18 holes of the fog-delayed PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Kuchar finished his first round at 5 under, thanks to a birdie at the par-4 sixth hole (the 15th hole of the round -- and first of the day) on Friday. That's one shot better than Bubba Watson and Francesco Molinari -- both of whom finished their rounds on Thursday
