Robert Karlsson runs away with Qatar Masters

Robert Karlsson fired a final round 65 to win the Qatar Masters by three strokes. Karlsson had a perfect final round with seven birdies and no bogeys.

Alvaro Quiros made a strong run with a 67 to finish in second place.

"The focus this year was to come back and start to put together good rounds and a then a string of good rounds and then you never know what's going to happen," said Karlsson, following his tenth career title."That's the thing I am most happy with. It's not really the win, it's fantastic to win, but to play four really good rounds together, that's the most satisfying."

An Aussie grabs lead at half way point of Qatar Masters

Aussie Brett Rumford has the lead at the half way point of the Qatar MAsters. Rumford sits at 9 under par after a second day 66.

Bradley Dredge sits at 8 under while Lee Westwood and and Oliver Wilson sit at 7 under par.

The cut was set at 2 over. players like Ian Poulter, Francesco Molinari, Thomas Aiken and Pablo Martin all failed to make the cut.

Rumford had seven Birdies with one bogey on his round. Rumford who has struggled with his game is looking to improve on his Tie for 64th that he got at the Abu Dhabi Championship.

Oliver Wilson grabs first round lead at Qatar

Oliver Wilson the number 43 ranked player in the world grabed the first round lead at the Qatar Masters after shooting a 5 under 67. Wilson is tied with Bradley Dredge for the lead.

Wilson had 6 birdies and one bogey in his round.

Lee Westwood, Robert Karlsson, Alexander Noren and Marcel Siem are all tied for Third after shooting 68s on day one.

Westwood the number 4 ranked player in the world had 5 birdies with 1 bogey.
