Charl Schwartzel claimed his fourth European PGA Tour title by winning the Africa Open by 1 stroke over Thomas Aiken.

Trevor Fisher leader after the first three rounds shot a 1 under 72 to lose by three strokes finishing tied for fourth.

Schwartzel, the 25 year old, whose previous tournament wins came at the 2005 Alfred Dunhill Championship, the 2007 Open de Espana and the 2008 Madrid Masters.


With the win Charl Schwartzel is in first place in the Race to Dubai standings.

Next week tournament is the Joburg Open the last event in South Africa.

Thomas Aiken shot a third round 69 to grab the lead along with Trevor Fisher. Fisher the leader after all three rounds shot a 71. Both players are at 16 under par.

Jbe Kruger is one shot back at 15 under after shooting a third round 67.

Dawie Van Der Walt was the biggest gainer on Saturday with a third round 66 to move up 44 places. Van Der Walt is currently in a tie for 8th place at 12 under.


Jarmo Sandelin was the biggest loser losing 47 spots after shooting a 3 over 76 on Saturaday.

Charl Schwartzel who is 5th in the Race to Duabi championship and ranked 66th in the world is sitting at 14 under par in a tie for 4th place.

Trevor Fisher shot a second round 66 to grab a one stroke lead after 2 rounds. Fisher sits at 14 under par. Patrik Sjoland is one behind at 13 under par after shooting a second round 67.

The biggest mover of the day was Fredrik Andersson Hed who moved up 89 places after shooting a second round 66. Hed sits at 6 under for the tournament.

The loser of the day was Dion Fourie dropped 83 places and missed the cut after shooting a 68 on day one Fourie shot a 76 on day 2. Fourie missed the cut by three strokes.

Darren Fichardt who is 11th in the Race to Duabi standings failed to make the cut after shooting a 2 under par for 2 rounds of play.
